Waste Solutions Group (WSG) is a San Francisco-based waste transfer, transportation & disposal operator; and rail terminal operator specializing in the shipment of waste by rail. Since its inception in 1992, WSG has moved more than 6 million tons of waste-by-rail for public and private sector clients on both East and West coasts of North America. The Company has offices and terminals in San Francisco (CA) and Richmond (CA). The firm has provided waste–by-rail transfer, transport & disposal services for more than 20 years and its principals have more than 50 years of experience in the waste industry.
WSG’s sister company, San Francisco Bay Railroad (SFBR), is a federally chartered short-line railroad that has been in existence since 2000. SFBR currently provides rail yard transfer operations and rail switching services in the Bay Area. SFBR provides rail switching services and rail yard operations based at the Port of San Francisco, where it operates a 10-acre rail yard wand terminal with more than 10,000 feet of track. In 2005 and 2006 SFBR’s West coast operation loaded and switched railcars with more than 500,000 tons of waste from WSG’s operations.
